Rainbows, how do they form

Hi guys,

Welcome back to another blog post. This week for writing I did a explanation writing on how rainbows form with Mr Williams. Explanation writing is a piece of witting were you are explaining to some one how something works. So here is a piece  of writing that I wrote about how rainbows form. I hope you enjoy. 

How do rainbows form 

 Have you ever wondered how rainbows form? I know, but there are some things that maybe you didn't know about rainbows like that we see the rainbows colours backwards. I know right. The first step to making rainbows is …

 The first thing that creates a rainbow is after it rains the light from the sun will enter the droplets of water.

 Secondly when the sun exits the water droplets and realises colour making the sky colourful.

 Finally is when a rainbow appears. The colours of the rainbow are red orange yellow green blue indigo and violet. A good way to remember this is ROY G BIV. A rainbow is actually a circle but we only see half from the ground. Lets recap. First the light from the sun enters a water droplet. Second the light exists in the droplet and releases the colour. Third a rainbow appears. To see a rainbow you must be facing the rain and the sun must be behind you.

A letter 

21/09/20

 Dear Emma, How is school ?? I am writing this letter in writing because we are allowed to do a letter. When I saw that I could do a letter I thought of you and how I am seeing you in the holidays. Have you played any sport this term ?? At school the year 5s and 6s went to hornby high every friday afternoon of 6 weeks to play your chosen sport. I chose netball. I was on wigram A team with my friend Izzie. I have missed you ever since I last saw you when I was in Gore with Dad. Have you been swimming lately ? In term 2 my class and Josiah's class went swimming. Then lockdown happened. We still had 4 days of swimming left when we went into lockdown. So this term we made up for those 4 days and went swimming again. It was awesome. On the second to last week of school on Thursday I presented at the student summit. The student summit is where students from all over the Uru Manuka cluster present something they know and teach others how to use it on a chromebook. Or you just watch it. I presented with daniel. He spoke and I answered questions. It was awesome. We taught people how to use scratch. After the presentation Mrs Lee took all the presenters ( 4 people ) in her car to muffin break during lunch. It was delish. I had a chocolate milkshake yum yum. Have you ever helped out at a school event ??. I did. At lunch one time Me, Kezia and Peter went down to the hall and helped out at the orienteering course. We had to write their names on the piece of paper and tell them what to do and the time so we could see how long it took them. Peter though, half way through slipped under the table and went out to play soccer. It was really crazy but I enjoyed it. I hope your doing well

Persuasive writting.

Why we should have more school competitions Hi, I am writing this because I would like this school to have school competitions. I have lots of good reasons and solutions for problems that may happen during this time. Enjoy How will it help students ?? Well, if you have a competition with teamwork it could build friendships and strengthen them. Learning how to be in a team would also happen to people as well. You can learn to solve problems rather than make them. It would be good for your personality. Who will plan it ?? Glad you asked. We could assemble some responsible people and some house captains to be a competition team. Every month they would stay after school and have a meeting or have one at lunch. They would come up with a competition and plan it all. ( About the team ) who would do what ( like plan the prizes) Well, everyone would have a signed position right from the start. They would be led by 1 or 2 people who will be in charge of everything and anything. What kind of competitions would there be ?? Glad you asked, that is up to the team. But don’t worry they will be school appropriate. I hope I have convinced you. Bye 

 A recipe

                                                                My special salad 

What you need : 

Bowl Lettice Tomato Eggs Pan Cheese Knife Chopping board Salad dressing 

 What you need to do :

 Get out your pot and pour water into it Put it on the stove 

Keep and eye on it until it boils through these steps and then put your hard boild eggs in when it boils. 

Get your lettuce 

Wash it under the water 

Take of the bad bits 

Take off the pieces that you want to use in your salad. 

Put the lettuce in your bowl 

Get out your chopping board and knife

 Grab your tomato’s and cut them into thin slices

 Put the tomato slices into the salad. 

Get your cheese and cut them into wiude slices and then cut them into blocks

  When your eggs are ready get them out of the pot and dry them. 

 Peel off the shell. 

 Cut your eggs into 4 pieces per egg 

 Put the egg into the salad

 Get the salad dressing and put it on the table.

 Put the salad out and then put some dressing on the salad Enjoy !!

Monster,setting and pick a path writting

 Hi guys,

Welcome back to another blog post. For the past few weeks me and my writing group have been working hard with a task we were given. First in was simple. Chose a picture and write the 5 sences into a plan  I chose a picture of a cave that leads out a lagoon. Sounds easy right ? Well it was but then we had to team up with 1 or 2 people with the same picture as you and do the exact same plan. So I teamed up with Skyla and Karaitiana. We did it and it turned out awesome. Then we had to write a 5 paragraphs together about the senses. It was getting hard now. Then we had to add our monsters into our story. ( Go check out me monster post to met MY monster ). Once we did that we were given the task to think of a problem and suliton and then. I was away that day so I missed out on doing it. Then in out group we had to think of a problem and do a pick a path about in the same setting that we had been doing from the start with our monsters in it. Once we did all of that we had to put it on a slide show and post it to the blog. I hope you enjoy the slide show. As you can see I have worked hard doing this so please comment on it. It is not finished so enjoy what is there already.

Did you know a group of dolphins can kill a shark ??

Where does a dolphin live ??

Dolphins live in water. But what kind of water do

they live in. Well let me tell you.

Dolphins can live in a lot of different water. They

can live in saltwater and freshwater. The means you

can find them in the ocean,lakes,rivers and streams.

You may even find one in an aquarium.

What do dolphins eat ??

Dolphins eat a number of things. That means they don’t

just eat fish.

Dolphins eat fish and octopus. They also eat squid and jellyfish.

Dolphins are carnivores but no dolphin has been known to eat a

human which is good for us.

Who are dolphins predators ??

Do you remember when I told you that a group of dolphins

can kill a shark ?? Well they can. But the shark has to be smaller than

the dolphin.

The only predators of a dolphin are sharks. Dolphins are predators themselves

to a few sharks but they are only little sharks. The bigger sharks are the

problem. Sharks like the primary shark and the bull shark. Another one

is the tiger shark and dusky shark and of course the great white shark.

What other dangers are there to dolphins apart from predators ??

I have told you about dolphins predators but not their environmental

dangers.

A dolphins environmental dangers are PLASTIC IN THE

OCEAN !!!!! Climate change and ship sticks. There are

more dangers I can not name.
